For over 30 years Highland Store has operated as an independent retailer, showcasing classic products of quality and originality.

Our goods are mostly made in the United Kingdom or Ireland by traditional manufacturers and artisans. Wool is our main ingredient and our true passion.

We take pride in being amongst the few remaining “brick and mortar” stores in Central London offering authentic Scottish goods and highland wear made-to-measure. All online orders are hand-picked, meticulously packed and shipped from our Bloomsbury boutique.

We are not a corporation or backed by an investment group. Please keep this in mind when ordering from us as we cannot offer the same services(return labels etc) as other larger organizations do. We encourage you to review our size guides carefully prior to making a purchase or contacting sales@highlandstore.com for any further assistance.

Online prices include UK VAT when visiting the website from the United Kingdom.

If customers are browsing from abroad, prices will be displayed with 20% UK VAT deducted. Highlandstore.com will automatically detect the country you are shopping from via your IP address. It is also possible to manually select a specific destination (and currency) from the top right corner of the homepage. However, taxes and shipping costs will be calculated at checkout based on weight of the goods and destination.

We will usually dispatch your order  the following working day after receipt. Bank holidays and weekends can cause a slight delay.

For UK orders, we use Royal Mail 48 hour tracked service.

For EU orders, we use Royal Mail International tracked service. This normally takes about 15 working days. Once the goods clear UK customs, Royal Mail pass the shipments to the national postal service in the country of destination(e.g. laposte.fr, poste.it, deutschepost.de, correos.es etc). Highland Store does not cover import duties to European addresses(these vary from country to country) and have no control over these charges. If customers refuse to pay the local import duties, the goods will eventually return to our London store. We must wait for the order to arrive back to us before we can arrange a refund. All shipping costs sustained by Highland Store Ltd will be deducted from your refund.

For orders to Rest Of World (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Asia etc)  we use DHL Express. Shipping costs include import duties. Delivery times are usually within 14 working days.

All customers will receive an email or SMS(if these contact details have been provided) confirming tracking information once the order has been dispatched.

The delivery times  mentioned above are estimations, quoted by our carriers and can be subject to delays outside of our control. They should be used only as a guideline.

Customers have 14 days from receipt of the order to evaluate the goods. If they wish to return any item, these must be sent to:

Dry Clean or Hand-wash

-A GUIDE TO HANDWASHING A WOOL JERSEY

-Get a washing bowl or bucket large enough to accommodate your jersey allowing for some movement.

-Fill it with cool water.(not warm or tepid).and add a detergent that states that it's for 'delicate fabrics'.

-MIx well so that the detergent is thoroughly dispersed in the water - be careful not to add too much.

-Put the jersey in and and press down and 'knead' it gently to wash it through and get the detergent thoroughly soaked into the wool fibres. Do NOT wring or twist the fabric as you do this.

-Leave it to soak in bowl/bucket for 30 mins minImum.

-Remove the jersey carefully without stretching.

-Refill the bowl/bucket with cool clean water and place the garment back in there and repeat gentle washing motions to remove any excess detergent and suds.

-The  jersey must now be removed as the next stage of the process is drying.

-Please note that any wringing must be avoided as this may permanently damage the shape -.all artificial drying methods are also damaging to pure wool.

-In order to remove excess water from the jersey fold it and roll it in a bath towel.

-Finally, the garment needs to laid across a drying rack or line avoiding any stretching or pressure points. Time and evaporation will do their magic now and you can expect a cleaner and softer jersey than with dry cleaning, and with a tiny environmental impact by comparison, not to mention a huge significant cash saving.

DISCLAIMER

We at Highland Store believe that handwashing is a great option in terms of care of your pure wool garment, and also best in terms of impact on the environment. We endeavour to give the best guidance in this respect but we cannot be responsible for any damage to your item as a result of this process.
